What Is Sensory-Friendly Exploration Day?
Sensory-Friendly Exploration Day is a welcoming event that adapts the Lighthouse experience to create a supportive environment for those with autism, sensory sensitivities, and special needs.
The program offers:
- A modified Lighthouse tour with adjusted pacing and sensory considerations.
- An engaging sensory exploration room with calming activities.
- An adaptive nature trail scavenger hunt designed for all abilities.
- A relaxing snack break under the Chickee Hut.
This event also connects families with local therapy, enrichment, and support services, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
